Each day during the festival, informal artist presentations will take place, offering and facilitating privileged meetings between artists and the public. With representation from countries as diverse as Australia and Argentina, these women will expose their creative processes and motivations regarding technological and digital innovation and exploration.

Laura Barrón, Mexico
Laura Barrón lives and works in Mexico City. In 1992, she completed studies in Visual Arts at the UNAM, and in Photography at the Colombia College Panamericano. Her subtle and delicate photographic work in black and white has been rewarded with numerous prizes, notably the Acquisition Prize at the 8th Biennal in Photography (Mexico, 1997). She has had numerous individual exhibitions throughout South America and since 1989, has participated in several group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Canada and internationally.

Caroline Gagné, Quebec
Caroline Gagné lives and work in Quebec City. She completed her studies in the Visual Arts at Laval University in 1996 and received the René-Richard Foundation Prize. Since then, her work has been presented at the Galerie Espace 1625 (Lausanne, 1996) and in 1998, and was part of a collective assembling thirteen artists who explore textiles as a medium. In 1999 with the CHAMBRE BLANCHE, she created an in-situ work for the Centre d’Interpretation de la Vie urbaine de Quebec (Quebec Interpretation Centre for Urban Life) and participated in the event, Tissus urbains (Urban Tissues), presented in Montreal in June 2001. Her Web project Les Sentiers battus (Beaten Paths) is currently accessible on the CHAMBRE BLANCHE site and as a pilgrim in the context of Daïmon’s Web art project: Les batisseurs de cathédrales (Cathedral Builders).

Gabriela Golder, Argentina
Gabriela Golder is a videomaker from Argentina. She was born in Buenos Aires in 1971. She studied at Buenos Aires Film University. She also studied at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. In 1999-2000, she continued her studies at the Masters’ level in Hypermedia in Paris, with a fellowship from the French governement. She has also participated in residencies at the Banff Centre, Alberta, Canada (1998) and the CICV Pierre Schaeffer, Belfort, France (1996, 1999-2000). She is currently coordinator of Digital Art and Video at the Centro Cultural General San Martin in Buenos Aires.

Stéphanie Lagueux, Canada
Stéphanie Lagueux is an artist who works with video installation and new media. Since completing her studies in Hull in 1998, she has exhibited in various solo and group shows in Hull, Montreal, Granby, Rimouski and Rouyn-Noranda. Although a resident of Montreal, she remains involved in two visual and media arts organisations situated in the Outaouais region — Axe NÉO-7 and Daïmon. Her formal training in arts, design and education has permitted her to teach in different contexts. She also works in computer graphics and Web design.
