LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is devoted to experimentation and dissemination
in the field of Visual Arts. Founded in 1978, this artist-run center
has been recognized, over the years, as a dynamic and stimulating
milieu for discussion and practice of Visual Arts. Since 1982, the
center has its own Artist-in-Residence program, born of the desire
of the collective to propose new contexts in which to create. This
program, the first in the province of Quebec, is the driving force
behind our thinking devoted to installation and in situ practices,
a mandate reflected in all of LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE activities: events
outside the gallery walls, conferences and debates, publications
related to the programming, a documentation center. Pursuant to
this work, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE is also interested in investing virtual
space and runs a laboratory dedicated to Web Art. |
