The 90's utopic visions of the net imagined an emergent present where gender lost all importance. While that vision is no longer at the forefront of digital culture, gender is still often assumed to be neutral. How do artworks and exhibitions that focus on gender differ from those that don't? And how do these contexts inform readings of contemporary work and artistic practice? Artists and curators discuss how they deal with these issues in their work.
